The UFC has announced plans to re-schedule a light heavyweight contest between Vladimir Matyushenko and Alexander Gustafsson for UFC 141 in December.
UFC 141 takes place from Las Vegas, Nevada and features a main event of Alistair Overeem meeting Brock Lesnar.
Matyushenko and Gustafsson were originally scheduled to meet in August at UFC 133, but “The Janitor” was forced out of the bout due to an injury.
Gustafsson (12-1) went on to face Matt Hamill on the card and defeated Hamill via TKO in the second round. The 24-year-old has won three straight fights in the UFC and is 4-1 overall inside the Octagon, with his lone loss coming to Phil Davis.
Matyushenko (26-5) has won two straight UFC fights and is 4-1 in his past five. The lone loss during his recent run in the UFC came at the hands of current 205-pound champion Jon Jones.
