Nate “The Great” Marquardt will make his debut for BAMMA this December.
Marquardt, a former contender in the UFC, still wants to face Paul Daley, despite recent comments from “Semtex” that he will not be fighting Marquardt.
“I was hoping to fight Paul and I heard the same thing, I heard he put it on his website or something that he’s not going to be fighting in BAMMA in December, or at least he’s not going to be fighting me in December,” said Marquardt recently on MMA Weekly Radio. “I don’t know what to think about that. I think it’s still a possibility.”
Daley, also a former UFC star, was one of several fighters that ripped into Marquardt after his release from the promotion due to high levels of testosterone.
“I don’t know if he’s scared that he can’t make weight or what. I don’t get it,” Marquardt said. “Doesn’t make sense to me. I know he would be willing to fight me, but I just don’t know what his reason is for putting that. I don’t know what the deal is.”
Marquardt flew over to England for BAMMA 7 last weekend and met Daley in-person. He said maybe the meeting had something to do with Daley not wanting to fight him now.
Daley has a bout scheduled with Luigi Fioravant in October for Ringside MMA in Montreal, Ontario, Canada.
BAMMA 8 is set for December 10 in Nottingham, England.
