Even if it seems a little hammed up to promote the season, opposing TUF 14 coaches Michael Bisping and Jason “Mayhem” Miller’s feud is at least delivering some entertainment.
The two went back and forth on the media conference call held to promote The Ultimate Fighter 14, trading verbal jabs that were usually worth a chuckle. In a recent conversation with USA Today’s Sergio Non, Mayhem kept the show rolling when asked his opinion of Bisping as a fighter.
“As a fighter, he’s like a goon,” said Miller. “He’s not the most bright fighter, not the most smart in the cage. But he’s an excellent athlete. You definitely can see that he works hard, because in all his fights, he doesn’t gas. He goes hard and goes hard. I can understand that, because I put in the effort in the gym and it shows in the cage.”
As a result of not putting much thought into his fighting, Miller believes that Bisping has allowed himself to become predictable and will favor his usual stick-and-move stand up attack when they meet in the cage upon the show’s conclusion.
“You know what he’s going to do,” he said. “He’s going to run at you with punches, and then he’s going to jab and run away when he feels threatened. My goal is to have him running away the whole time.”
The Ultimate Fighter 14 will debut this September 21 on SpikeTV and the show’s finale — where Bisping and Miller will meet in the cage — is scheduled to take place at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on December 3.
