M-1 officials announced that the Fedor Emelianenko-Jeff Monson bout will be held November 20, not November 12 as originally scheduled.
The bout will take place at the Olympic Stadium in Moscow, Russia. Plans for television have not been announced, but it is possible that Showtime broadcasts the fight due to Fedor’s contract with the television network.
Fedor and Monson were set to face off in 2007, but a contract could not be worked out. Monson actually left the UFC to fight Emelianenko at the time.
It has been a long year for Fedor, as he has lost to both Antonio Silva and Dan Henderson, adding to his loss to Fabricio Werdum in 2010.
Monson had his eight-fight win streak snapped by a loss to Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix finalist Daniel Cormier this past June.
No other fights have been confirmed for the M-1 event.
