Dana White Addresses Recent Lack Of Attention For Strikeforce

Following the dismal turnout for last weekend’s Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov fight card, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal let his feelings on the state of the promotion and the sparse media coverage for the event be known.

In addition to repeatedly comparing Strikeforce to someone infirm and predicting it’s impending death, Mo told gathered media after the fight, “I was hoping there would be more people out here, more media, more questions, but really I guess ya’ll don’t care about us that much because everybody’s worried about other issues instead of the fights this weekend — I’m just being real.”

UFC president Dana White responded to Lawal, and to anyone else holding complaints over Strikeforce’s recent coverage, in a conversation with Yahoo! Sports’ Kevin Iole, in the fashion that we’ve come to expect from the UFC boss.

“If Mo whatever the f*** his name is, or any of those guys, think I planned all this s*** this week, they’re out of their minds,” said White. “Yes, we signed [Alistair] Overeem and made the Brock [Lesnar] fight. Do you think I expected Nick Diaz to pull this s***? We have all kinds of stuff going and I didn’t need this in my life. It is what it is and I never had a thought in my mind of f****** with Strikeforce — but I promote the UFC 24/7.”
