MMAJunkie.com is reporting that UFC welterweight Daniel “Ninja” Roberts has been forced out of the impending UFC Fight Night 25 fight card with an injury; his originally scheduled opponent, TJ Waldburger, will now face UFC newcomer Mike Stumpf.
A member of the Cesar Gracie fight team, Roberts was looking to rebound from two consecutive losses in the UFC, unanimous decisions to Claude Patrick and Rich Attonito.
Anthony “TJ” Waldburger has appeared in the UFC twice, splitting fights against David Mitchell and Johny Hendricks; Waldburger was able to take a decision over Mitchell, but was defeated via first-round TKO bu Hendricks. Waldburger sports an overall record of 13-6 and has earned eleven of his career wins via submission, one via TKO and one via decision; five of his losses have come by either KO or TKO and one via decision.
11-2 Team Curran fighter Mike Stumpf will be making his promotional debut when he faces Waldburger and will be cutting from middleweight to do so. He too has earned most of his victories via submission, with seven of his wins ending in that fashion and the other four being split evenly between TKOs and decisions; his two losses have come via decision.
UFC Fight Night 25 goes down on September 17 from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana and will feature a main event between Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger. Check back on FightLine.com this Saturday for our live, ongoing coverage of the fight.
