UFC welterweight contender Jon Fitch has had enough of the talk.
Fitch, who has been on the sidelines since February due to a shoulder injury, took to his Twitter account to declare himself medically cleared to return to both training and fighting.
“Great. Started training like I’m in a fight camp this week. If anyone gets hurt I’ll be ready,” Fitch wrote.
Fitch, 33 years old, last competed at UFC 127 when he and B.J. Penn battled to a draw. It has been reported that the two were slated for a rematch in the summer, but both went down with injuries.
Penn is now scheduled to meet Nick Diaz in November at UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Condit. It has been rumored that Fitch-Penn ll would take place at that card after all the changes started going down.
Fitch (23-3-1) would seem like a strong candidate to compete on the UFC 139 card due to his fighting out of San Jose, California, where the event is being held.
