Strikeforce 36: Rafael Cavalcante Vs. Yoel Romero

Round 1: Cavalcante takes the center of the cage, with Romero bouncing around on the outside. The crowd starts booing heavily as the two gauge each other. Romero tries a Crane kick-type thing that doesn’t accomplish much. Feijao tries for a head kick at around the 3:30 mark. Feijao lands a hard leg kick and misses on a follow-up Superman punch attempt. There’s a lot of inaction so far, with Romero moving around a lot on the outside and Cavalcante trying to figure him out. Feijao with a body punch, Romero returns with the same. The crowd boos the dancing. Feijao tries a head kick again; it misses. A leg kick lands for Feijao. Miragliotta calls time and then for a translator, seemingly to tell Romero to pick it up. Romero comes out taunting. He tries for a takedown, but Feijao ends up on top of him. scores the round 10-9 for Cavalcante

Round 2: Romero swings with a big overhand right and misses. Feijao lands with a nice right kick to the body and then is tapped low when Romero returns fire with one of his own. They break briefly. Romero crouches to the mat and plays around there. Feijao falls to the mat after throwing a head kick, but recovers quickly. Romero bulls Feijao into the fence and starts to put some punches together on him. Feijao is looking a little beat up now and he briefly hits the ground when Romero hits a double. They work against the clinch briefly, but separate after stalemating. Feijao is plodding after Romero; he lands a hard kick to the body, to which Romero throws up his hands. Romero tries for the takedown but Cavalcante avoids and hits a takedown of his own from the cage. He lets Romero to his feet and the Cuban wrestler starts to put together some punches. Feijao throws up a head kick that misses, but he comes around with a hard spinning back fist that drops Romero. He takes his time in finishing his opponent, chasing him as he reels across the cage, only to put him away with a big right hand when he finally falls to the mat.
