It’s been a big summer for the UFC, but perhaps no announcement had more gravity or holds more promise than that of the inking of a broadcast deal with network TV station FOX. The deal will last for seven years and will span two FOX-controlled channels — FuelTV and FX — in addition to the FOX channel itself.
Shortly after making the landmark deal, the UFC announced the main event for their November 12-scheduled network television debut: a heavyweight title fight between champ Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos, which will air during an hour-long broadcast on FOX and will take place from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Today, the UFC announced that tickets for the event will go on sale next Friday, September 16, at 1 p.m. ET to the general public. UFC Fight Club Members will get the benefit of being able to pick up the tickets on pre-sale starting on Wednesday, September 14 at 1 p.m. ET and subscribers to the UFC.com newsletter will be able to pick up their tickets starting Thursday, September 15 at 1 p.m. ET.
The main event is already being buttressed by a number of lighter weight tilts, most notably an intriguing lightweight fight between Ben Henderson and Clay Guida. The UFC hasn’t announced yet how to catch the preliminary card.
So far, the full card for UFC on FOX 1 looks like this:
-Ricardo Lamas vs. Cub Swanson
-Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto vs. Darren Uyenoyama
-Pablo Garza vs. Dustin Poirier
-Clay Guida vs. Ben Henderson
-Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos
