UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is always having fun inside the Octagon.
Of course, that is easy to say when you are on a record 14-fight win streak with the UFC, including nine defenses of the title.
“Before the fights, the journalists always ask me what I think, what will be like my strategy and these things and I always answer, ‘My fight is going to be fun.’ Afterwards I watch and it is really fun!” said Silva, who defeated Yushin Okami in August.
The 36-year-old Silva (31-4) is expected to meet the winner of Chael Sonnen-Brian Stann, but there have also been rumors that Dan Henderson could be brought in from Strikeforce to face “The Spider.”
For Silva, his winning ways are all because of the teachers he has had through the years in MMA.
“I am privileged to have good masters that were always incisive with me. The martial arts were created to defend oneself,” Silva said. “I look to pass it on to my students, that is necessary to defend first to attack second. As a fighter, you need to be precise, quick and efficient. They always taught me this.”
