It looks like The Last Emperor has an opponent locked for his much-speculated-over return to action.
Jeff Monson announced today that he’s scheduled to face off against Fedor Emelianenko on the same night that the UFC will make its debut on FOX, November 12.
“Nov 12th vs Fedor in Russia M-1 confirmed,” he Tweeted.
The fight would be Monson’s third scheduled, as he’s currently on deck to face Maro Perak on October 1 and Gabriel Gonzaga on October 15.
A submission specialist training with American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Monson most recently appeared in action against Daniel Cormier at Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum, losing a unanimous decision which snapped his previous eight-fight winning streak.
Once considered to be the best heavyweight fighter of all time, Fedor Emelianenko has been dashed in his last three appearances, succumbing to defeat against Fabricio Werdum, Antonio Silva and Dan Henderson — all by stoppage.
There has been no site named as of yet for the fight.
