American Kickboxing Academy product Mike Kyle most recently appeared in action last December in a fight he took on short notice and up one weight class against one of the heavyweight division’s toughest and largest competitors, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.
Though he put up a hell of a fighht considering the weight disparity, Kyle eventually succumbed to the bigger man’s power and lost the fight via KO. A subsequent bout in his home division at light heavyweight with Gegard Mousasi was scrapped after he broke his hand in training and now the 31-year-old is itching to get back to action.
Kyle will return to the cage against the unheralded Marcos Rogerio de Lima next weekend at Strikeforce 36 and he has big plans for the future that start in the cage that night.
“He’s gonna be a tough, game opponent and I plan on taking it to him,” Kyle recently told The Shoot. “My focus right now is to get this win over de Lima and then hopefully go after Dan Henderson, then move on to Jon Jones.”
