Andrei Arlovski, Kendall Grove, Reagan Penn Pick Up Wins At ProElite Debut

Andrei Arlovski scored a third round victory via TKO against Ray Lopez at Saturday’s ProElite card from Hawaii.

Fellow former UFC veteran Kendall Grove also earned a win, scoring a first round submission win by guillotine choke.

Arlovski’s match with Lopez was billed originally as the main event, but the Grove-Joe Riggs fight headlined.

Arlovski stopped a four-fight losing streak by scoring a takedown and mounting Lopez before finishing off the fight with ground-and-pound. The former UFC heavyweight champion is now 16-9 in his career.

Grove (13-9) needed just 59 seconds to finish off Riggs (34-14), securing the choke with his back up against the wall, surprising Riggs and securing the win.

In other action, Reagan Penn, B.J. Penn’s brother, made his MMA debut in impressive fashion, finishing off Paul Gardiner by rear-naked choke in the first round.

Mark Ellis, a former NCAA wrestling champion, defeated Jake Heun via submission, also scoring a rear-naked choke.
