Here we go, kids. The Bulgarian Nedkov is predictably booed as he makes his way out to the cage, to some kind of orchestral battle music. Think of the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack, or something. Cane walks out to “Strong Will Continue” from the Nas/Damian Marley collaboration. This light heavyweight pay-per-view opener will be overseen by referee Mario Yamasaki.
Round 1: They touch gloves and Cane takes to the center of the cage, forcing Nedkov to the outside. Cane hits a hard inside leg kick on Nedkov. Cane keeping his eyes open and looking to counter as Nedkov tries to bull him into the clinch. Cane fires a hard straight left hand down the pipe. Nedkov is just winging right hands over and again, but he’s managing to land it occasionally. Cane putting some strikes together that have the crowd rallying. Nedkov bleeding from his nose. Cane makes him fall by timing one of those rights with a kick. Cane starting to pick his shots. Nedkov turns him around with a big left hook-right hand combo that has Cane hopping across the cage. He chases him down and pounds away on him against the fence until Yamasaki has to step in.
The crowd is silent.
Stanislav Nedkov defeated Luiz Cane via TKO (strikes) at 4:13 of round 1
Some confusion over who will translate for Nedkov… The crowd refrains from booing him during his post-fight interview, in which he thanks everyone.
