A huge main event is in the works for UFC on FOX, according to reports.
Tatame.com reported that the UFC is looking at making Anderson Silva vs. Dan Henderson the main event of the debut card on FOX, as long as Silva gets by Yushin Okami this Saturday at UFC 134.
According to sources, Silva would defend his 185-pound title against Henderson, who is currently the Strikeforce light heavyweight champion but had his contract run out after his last fight.
Reports are also saying that the UFC is making a second option if they cannot agree to terms with Henderson which would see Chael Sonnen get removed from his planned bout with Brian Stann and face Silva in a rematch from last year.
Stann would meet Vitor Belfort in Houston at UFC 136.
Much of this is based out of Dana White’s quotes in the L.A. Times that said he would wait until after this weekend to decide what would be the main event on FOX.
But, with the UFC looking to make a big splash in its debut with the network, a title fight between either Silva and Henderson or Silva and Sonnen would do the trick.
