Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira has a big fight with Brendan Schaub just days away at UFC 134 in his home country of Brazil.
UFC 134: Silva vs. Okami takes place Saturday night from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
During an interview conducted recently, Nogueira expressed his disinterest in ever training with an openly gay fighter.
“I have no prejudice against the gays, but I wouldn’t train with someone who’s gay. I have no malice, I don’t take our physical contact as (something) sexual. But what if the gay person has that malice of having physical contact with me, of staying there grappling?” Nogueira said. “I would have no problems having a gay student in my academy, but I would rather not train with him.”
The former UFC heavyweight champion shares the same believes when it comes to grappling with women.
The Nogueira-Schaub match is an important one, as it could decide the next No. 1 contender to the heavyweight strap.
