Tim Sylvia, Sean McCorkle and Phillipe Nover all picked up wins in fights outside of the UFC this past weekend.
Sylvia, a former UFC heavyweight champion, defeated Patrick Barrentine at Fight Tour in Illinois on Saturday night.
Sylvia (29-7) rebounded from a loss this past January to Abe Wagner in Titan Fighting Championships. The 35-year-old has won five of his last six.
Sylvia took the submission specialist Barrentine (9-7) down and ended the fight via ground and pound in just less than three minutes.
McCorkle (12-2) earned his second straight win since dropping back-to-back fights to Christian Morecraft and Stefan Struve inside the Octagon.
McCorkle, also 35 years old, defeated Alex Rozman by submission in the first round at Legends of Fighting 48: Mega in Indiana.
Rozman was just 1-13 entering the fight. He tapped out due to strikes against McCorkle for the second straight bout and third time in his last four fights.
Nover, a finalist on The Ultimate Fighter, topped Jake Murphy via unanimous decision at Hoosier Fight Club 8.
Nover (6-3-1) had not fought since February last year, where he was defeated by Rob Emerson. Three straight losses in the UFC led to his release, despite high praise by UFC President Dana White during filming of TUF.
