Strikeforce officials are starting to fill out the remainder of the September 10 card, which will feature the semifinals of the heavyweight grand prix.
Selected to compete on the preliminary card will be matches between Mike Kyle and Marcos Rogerio de Lima, and Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante and Yoel Romero.
Those bouts are joined by a previously mentioned fight pitting Jordan Mein against Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos.
This will mark the promotional debut for both Romero (4-0) and de Lima (8-0).
Cavalcante (10-3) is fighting for the first time since losing his light heavyweight title to Dan Henderson in March.
Kyle (18-8-1) was expected to meet Gegard Mousasi. He was last seen being defeated by Antonio Silva.
The main card, which airs live on Showtime, boasts semifinal round fights between Josh Barnett and Sergei Kharitonov, and Daniel Cormier and Silva. Cormier is replacing Alistair Overeem in the tourney.
Also slated to do battle will be middleweight champion Ronaldo Souza defending his gold against Luke Rockhold, Roger Gracie taking on Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, and Maximo Blanco facing Josh Thomson.
