FOX Broadcasting Announces Press Conference For Thursday, No Word On If It Concerns UFC

After Tuesday’s news that the UFC and FOX had reached terms for a multi-year deal to broadcast UFC programming on all three FOX channels, the cable company has scheduled a press conference for Thursday.

The press conference will begin at 1 p.m. (PT) in Los Angeles. FOX Sports Media Group Chairman and CEO David Hill is scheduled to attend, alongside Co-Presidents and COO’s Randy Freer and Eric Shanks, and FX President John Landgraf.

Sports Business Journal reporter John Ourand posted on his Twitter account that this will be “one of the biggest announcements in FOX Sports history.”

UFC President Dana White has had no comment about whether a television deal between the UFC and FOX has been worked out, stating at a press conference earlier this week, “I didn’t comment when The Wall Street Journal said we bought G4 either. When you’re in these negotiations, rumors start flying and everything else.”

The deal is reported to be worth $90 million over seven or eight years. Current television deals with Spike TV and Versus end after this year.
