Following the sudden and tragic death of MMA trainer Shawn Tompkins, AMR Group, his management team, has set up both a memorial fund and a guest book for those wishing to leave condolences and contributions.
Tompkins passed away in his sleep on August 14. He was 37-years-old at the time and is survived by his wife, Emilie, who is the sister of UFC fighter Sam Stout.
“Shawn was more than a client,” AMR Group founder and president Gary Ibarra said in an official release. “His passion and vision for MMA was infectious, evident by how he could motivate fighters to become better athletes and people.
“On behalf of AMR Group’s athletes and staff, we extend our deepest sympathies to Emilie, Sam and Shawn’s entire family. His spirit will live on in our hearts.
Tompkins, an instructor at TapouT Training Center, was helping Chris Horodecki prepare for his next bout in Canada when he passed away.
Those interested in contributing to the Shawn Tompkins Memorial Fund may email TeamTompkins@ShogunMMA. Further details for the memorial service may be found at AMRGroup.tv.
