The odds of a Nate Marquardt-B.J. Penn fight ever coming to fruition are slim-to-none. But, that hasn’t stopped either fighter from continuing to add fuel to the fire.
While Penn called out Marquardt on his release from the UFC due to failed tests that “The Great” stated were due to him receiving testosterone treatments for hormone replacement therapy.
Penn called it cheating, while Marquardt said it was within the legal guidelines.
Well, Marquardt, in an interview with Bleacher Report recently, made some claims of his own regarding the former UFC champion.
“I don’t know how a pothead is going to go and be so judgmental over medication prescribed by a doctor,” Marquardt said. “I’ll assume Cry B.J. has glaucoma and gets his weed from a ‘doctor’ and I won’t pass judgment on him for that.”
Marquardt has signed with BAMMA and will be competing in the welterweight division with the British-based company.
He stated that fights with Paul Daley, Hector Lombard and Ben Askren interest him the most, as they were three fighters who were critical of him following his release.
