Lyoto Machida’s manager told Yahoo! recently that a fight between his client and Phil Davis is being worked on.
Davis was scheduled to face Rashad Evans in the main event of UFC 133, but was forced to pull out due to an injury. Machida has not fought since UFC 129, back in April.
UFC officials had originally asked “The Dragon” to take Davis’ spot against Evans, but reports of Machida and his management team asking for “Anderson Silva money” steered the UFC to ask Tito Ortiz to fill the hole.
“Mr. Wonderful” defeated Machida’s teammate, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, at UFC Fight Night 24.
