Former WEC lightweight champion Ben Henderson has something special planned for Sunday night.
Henderson, who meets Jim Miller in the co-main event of UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle, plans on following in the footsteps of Georges St-Pierre should he defeat Miller.
“I do have something special planned for when I win,” Henderson said. “It’s going to be ala GSP a little bit, but with a slight twist to it. You guys will have to watch out for that. With a different accent, but I’ve got something in store.”
St-Pierre, the current UFC welterweight champion, dropped to his knees inside the Octagon and begged UFC President Dana White for a title shot after defeating Sean Sherk at UFC 56.
While many feel that if Miller is victorious against “Smooth” he will earn the next shot at either Frankie Edgar or Gray Maynard, it is unknown if Henderson is in the same boat.
Clay Guida recently defeated Anthony Pettis, and Pettis is the one that took the title from Henderson.
Maybe Henderson has plans on trying to avenge his loss to “Showtime?”
UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle takes place this Sunday, August 14 from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Don’t forget to check back on Sunday for FightLine.com’s live coverage of the event.
