Jim Miller Feels New Partners Experience Won’t Help Sunday Vs. Ben Henderson

If Jim Miller didn’t learn enough from watching past fights of his opponent Sunday Ben Henderson, he was given the opportunity to pick the brain of someone who has been in the cage with “Smooth.”

Recently, former WEC champion Jamie Varner joined the New Jersey-based AMA fight team. But, Varner only got to the camp when Miller was already in lock-and-load mode for Henderson.

“I got to train with him a little bit,” said Miller, who is in line for a shot at the UFC lightweight title with a win. “He was moving out (to New Jersey) and getting settled in when I was really ramping up my training camp, so I really haven’t gotten to work with him that much. Jamie and I are different fighters and since Jamie fought Ben, Ben has gotten better and become a different fighter. So I don’t really hold much weight on what Ben did in his fights with Jamie.”

Henderson defeated Varner to claim the WEC title by guillotine choke last year.

Miller is riding a seven-fight win streak and would become the quickest in the UFC to 10 victories inside the promotion if he can solve Henderson (13-2).
