Gerald Harris has announced on his Twitter account that he has agreed to face Kazuhiro Nakamura at DREAM.17 in September.
DREAM.17 takes place on September 17 from the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.
Harris (18-4) was cut from the UFC after a decision loss to Maiquel Falcao in a bout in which both fighters were criticized for a lack of in-cage activity. Having scored three straight knockouts in the UFC prior to the loss, including a pair of “Knockout of the Night” honors, it was a surprise that Harris was released.
After leaving the UFC, Harris lost to James Head, but rebounded his last time out to defeat Anthony Ruiz.
Nakamura (15-10) has not fought since 2010. He is the head man at the renowned Yoshida Dojo.
Joining the Harris-Nakamura fight will be Shinya Aoki battling Rob McCullough, Satoru Kitaoka taking on Willamy Freire, Caol Uno meeting Takeshi Inoue, Tatsuya Kawajiri facing Joachim Hansen, along with the opening round of the bantamweight World Grand Prix.
