The road back to the UFC begins in October for John Howard.
“Doomsday” was released after losing to Matt Brown this past June. He will look to get back on track against former Ultimate Fighter cast member Charlie Rader at an event put on by Championship Fighting Alliance in Miami on October 8.
Howard (14-7) won his first four fights in the UFC, but lost his last three and was given his walking papers. The welterweight, though, was exciting during his two-plus years in the UFC, earning Knockout of the Night and Fight of the Night honors.
Rader (14-4) was on 13th season of the show. He lost to eventual runner-up Ramsey Nijem in the opening round.
Some other UFC veterans will also be competing on the card, as Jamie Varner meets Eric Reynolds, and Antonio McKee takes on an opponent yet to be announced.
