Junie Browning, best known for his crazy antics on The Ultimate Fighter: Season 8, will face a new opponent on Saturday’s MMA Pit Fight: Genesis card.
Browning (4-4) was originally slated to meet Lenny Lovato from The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but Lovato (8-1) suffered a broken hand during training and was forced out.
Now, Browning gets Jacob Clark (7-3), who is from New Mexico and will have a huge home-crowd advantage.
Clark had asked to face Browning prior to the up-and-coming MMA Pit Fight company selecting Lovato.
“This feels amazing,” Clark said in an official release. “I’ve never had this big of an opportunity in my life, and I’ve never been more excited. Ten weeks ago, I asked for this fight but heard Lenny Lovato got the spot. As soon as I got the call, I took the fight right away. I’m excited to fight Junie Browning.”
Clark has dropped back-to-back fights to Vagner Rocha – a recent UFC-signee – and Bellator recruit Radley Martinez. The King of the Cage veteran opened his career with seven submission victories and went 7-1.
Browning has dropped three straight and will be fighting for the first time this year. He was released by the UFC after falling to Cole Miller and a subsequent arrest after being charged with assaulting three nurses.
The Genesis card will be available via pay-per-view, and will feature Houston Alexander meeting Razak Al-Hassan. Jens Pulver and Coty Wheeler will also collide, along with Jamie Yager meeting Willie Parks, Tyler East taking on Chris Guillen, and Angelica Chavez facing Diana Rael.
