Russian heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko was defeated for the third consecutive time last night at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
The Last Emperor met fellow Pride FC veteran Dan Henderson in the night’s main event and the two battled it out furiously for a single round. It looked like Emelianenko was on his way to ending things, having knocked Henderson down and then moved in for the kill. Proving his craftiness and grit, Henderson capitalized on Emelianenko’s desire to finish things, slipping out the backdoor and hammering him with a sneaky uppercut that left him temporarily limp. The follow-up ground and pound from Henderson sealed it, but many, including Emelianenko, saw the stoppage as an early one.
