Dan Henderson is gearing up to face fellow Pride FC veteran Fedor Emelianenko this Saturday night in a Strikeforce heavyweight bout.
Even though Emelianenko has been beaten twice consecutively, thereby diminishing the invincible aura he cultivated over years of competition in Japan, Henderson sees his opponent as one who still poses serious threats. Speaking with MMAInterviews recently, Henderson explained that he believes Emelianenko could even be more of a threat returning from two defeats, but that he’s still confident he can win.
“Obviously, you know, the mystique has come off a little bit with knowing that, ‘Yeah, he can be beat.’ For me, whether it was back then or now, he’s always been dangerous,” said Hendo. “He’s dangerous even coming off of two losses, he might be even more dangerous now. But, I’ve always had the belief that, no matter how dangerous he is, I felt like I was still able to beat him.”
