* The UFC announced that The Ultimate Fighter 13 finalist Ramsey Nijem (4-2) will face Danny Downes (8-2) in a lightweight bout at UFC 137 on October 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both fighters are coming off of losses in their UFC debuts at last month’s The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale card. Downes suffered a unanimous decision loss to veteran Jeremy Stephens at the event, while Nijem suffered a first round knockout loss to Tony Ferguson in the TUF 13 finals.
* The UFC announced that Jason Young (8-4) will face Michihiro Omigawa (12-10-1) in a featherweight battle at UFC 138 on November 5, 2011 at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England. Young is coming off of a unanimous decision loss in his UFC debut to Dustin Poirier at UFC 131 last month. Omigawa is also coming off of a loss at the same card, losing a controversial unanimous decision to Darren Elkins. Despite the loss, UFC President Dana White awarded both Omigawa and Elkins their win bonuses.
* Also announced for UFC 138 is a lightweight scrap between Paul Taylor (11–6–1 1 NC) and Anthony Njokuani (14-5 1 NC). Taylor is coming off of a second round KO victory over Gabe Ruediger at UFC 126 in February, while Njokuani is coming off of an impressive unanimous decision victory over Andre Winner at UFC 132 earlier this month.
* The UFC announced yet another bout for UFC 138, as Edward Faaloloto (2-2) will face Terry Etim (14–3) in another lightweight match-up. Etim hasn’t fought since suffering a submission loss to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 112 in April of 2010 due to a rib injury. Faaloloto made his UFC debut last month at UFC Live, suffering a first round TKO loss to TUF 12 finalist Michael Johnson.
