Boxing promoter and former president of the now-defunct Elite XC promotion Gary Shaw revealed last year that he had plans to promote his former employee Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson in a boxing match. Fast-forward a year later, and Sherdog.com reports that Slice will fight a to-be-named opponent at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma on August 13th.
The fight will be a four-round affair promoted by Gary Shaw Productions and Tony Holden Promotions. No other details have been announced, however the Slice fight will serve as the evening’s main event.
Slice was a cast-member on the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter and, though he lost to Roy Nelson on the show, fought twice for the UFC as a result. He defeated Houston Alexander via decision but was then TKO’ed in the second round of a bout with TUF 10 castmate Matt Mitrione, dropping his pro MMA record to 4-2. Slice was cut from the UFC following the loss.
