Chael Sonnen isn’t the only one excited about his suspension getting lifted. Wanderlei Silva is happy about because it means he may get the chance to legally assault the brash Oregonian.
Silva and Sonnen have cultivated a rivalry ever since an ill-fated van ride when “The Axe Murderer” confronted Sonnen for comments he made during the lead-up to his fight with Anderson Silva about the nation of Brazil and some of its more famous and respected fighters.
During a recent interview with MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani, Silva discussed the prospect of facing Sonnen now that he appears free of his legal entanglements.
“Sonnen… I kill him. I kill him fast,” said the Pride FC veteran. “This guy talks a lot of bulls***, he talks s*** about a lot of fighters.”
The 34-year-old issued a stern warning to Sonnen, who has taken to berating Silva (as well as a host of other MMA personalities) via Twitter, as is his M.O.
“Don’t talk about me because that’s dangerous, one day we’ll see each other again,” said Silva. “I’m gonna want to know why you just hide behind a computer.”
Before he gets a chance to settle his feud with Sonnen though, Silva will have to get past Chris “The Crippler” Leben, whom he faces this weekend at UFC 132 in his comeback bout after a yearlong layoff due to knee surgery.
