On today’s episode of MMAFighting.com’s The MMA Hour, Nate Marquardt stated that testosterone replacement therapy lead to his testosterone levels being over acceptable levels, forcing him to fail his medicals this past Saturday.
Marguardt noted that he has suffered from low testosterone since last August, and has taken prescribed testosterone. His levels were too high the day before his fight with Rick Story, and he had expected them to have dropped to normal levels.
His manager stated that Marguardt’s levels had gotten back to normal on Sunday, but they couldn’t get them to normal levels before the weigh-ins on Saturday and they expect Marquardt to be cleared by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission later this week.
More details to follow.
