Longtime UFC middleweight staple Nate Marquardt will make his 170lb. debut this coming Sunday against fast-rising prospect Rick Story.
Despite being perennially considered to be one of the world’s top middleweights, Marquardt decided to make the drop at the urging of his friend and teammate Georges St-Pierre (who also happens to be the UFC welterweight champ) and found that his overall feeling and performance skyrocketed with a slightly lighter frame.
Marquardt recently spoke with MMAWeekly.com about this Sunday’s fight, as well as his weight cut and how he plans to prove quickly that he is the best welterweight in the UFC, you can check out the interview below:
