Women’s MMA superstar Gina Carano was originally scheduled to face Sarah D’Alelio at last night’s Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum card, however had to withdraw due to an undisclosed medical condition.
No addition details were given in regards to Carano’s condition, however The USA Today posted a picture of a text message that Carano’s team sent Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker.
“Gina is feeling much better after having undergone some medical attention and is looking forward to getting back into training very soon,” the message read. “She would like to express thanks to Team Jackson for a wonderful training camp, Strikefore, and the fans.”
Carano hasn’t fought since an August 2009 TKO loss to current Strikeforce middleweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos. After focusing on her acting career, she relocated her training from Las Vegas at Xtreme Couture to Albuquerque, New Mexico at Team Jackson.
