Stephan Bonnar Out, Ronny Markes In Against Karlos Vemola At “UFC Live On Versus 5″

The UFC announced on their website that Stephan Bonnar has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming bout with Karlos Vemola at UFC on Versus 5. UFC newcomer Ronny Markes will replace Bonnar at the event.

According to a report on today, Bonnar suffered a Grade II tear of his medial collateral ligament (MCL). Bonnar stated that he will be in a brace for six weeks, however the injury will not require surgery.

Vemola’s overall record stands at 8-1, his UFC record at 1-1.

Markes will be making his Octagon debut against Vemola, and is currently on a four-fight win streak.

UFC Live on Versus 5 takes place on August 14, 2011 from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The event is the first hosted by the organization in the state of Wisconsin.
