MMAFighting.com has revealed that an exciting welterweight match up between British slugger Paul “Semtex” Daley and Brazilian brawler Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos has been booked for the upcoming Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson fight card.
“I’m happy to be fighting again,” the often controversial Daley told MMAFighting. “It’s a big fight. For those who haven’t seen the Melvin Manhoef vs. Cyborg fight, watch it and expect the same outcome for Cyborg… He’ll be knocked out.”
Daley most recently appeared in action on April 9 at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley against Strikeforce welterweight champ Nick Diaz in a barnburner of a title fight which ended in the first round with a TKO victory for Diaz. Daley sandwiched four victories between losses to Josh Koscheck — after which he threw his infamous UFC-career-ending cheap shot — and Diaz. The 28-year-old Team Rough House fighter owns twenty of his twenty-seven victories via KO/TKO; his overall record stands at 27-10-2.
Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos also last appeared in action against Diaz, having met the Stockton kid in January and losing via second round submission. The 33-year-old Chute Boxe product is known for his aggressiveness and willingness to engage, having put together a record of 18-14 with 11 KO/TKOs over his MMA career.
Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson goes down on July 30 at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
