After months of speculation, UFC President Dana White confirmed to The Underground that middleweights Michael Bisping and Jason “Mayhem” Miller will coach the fourteenth season of The Ultimate Fighter.
As is usually the case, a whole host of names were rumored to coach the show, from bantamweights Urijah Faber and Dominick Cruz to welterweights Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz. It was revealed during Chael Sonnen’s hearing with the California State Athletic Commission earlier this month that Sonnen and Bisping were in the running to coach the season, however those plans were thrown out the window after the CSAC upheld Sonnen’s suspension.
After a six-year absence from the UFC, Miller was originally scheduled to face Aaron Simpson at UFC 132 on July 2, however White confirmed that the fight has been scrapped. “Mayhem” will now face Bisping at the conclusion of the season at a yet to be determined location and venue.
Season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter will begin shooting next month and, for the first time ever, will feature featherweights and bantamweights.
