The Ultimate Fighter 1 runner up Stephan Bonnar today Tweeted that his next match up will likely come against Czechoslovakian bruiser Karlos Vemola.
“Who is karlos vermola? That’s ez, Bonnar’s next fight! Just released @Jon_anik and @ngaugeinc are the first 2 know. yeah dewd!!!”
“The American Psycho” is currently operating on the strength of a two-fight winning streak, having taken out both Krzysztof Soszynski and Igor Pokrajac in succession. Perhaps most noted for his landmark TUF 1 Finale bout against Forrest Griffin, Bonnar’s latest wins come after a disappointing three-fight losing skid, which saw him drop contests to Jon Jones, Mark Coleman and Soszynski (though the fight was stopped due to what was later revealed to be a cut caused by an accidental headbutt). The 34-year old is sports an overall record of 13-7, with a UFC record of 7-6.
25-year old London Shootfighters product Karlos Vemola made his UFC debut this past July at UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin, dropping a unanimous decision to Jon Madsen. “The Terminator” got the momentum swinging back in his favor in his second UFC appearance though, taking out Seth Petruzelli via first round TKO. Vemola’s overall record stands at 8-1, his UFC record at 1-1.
UFC on Versus 5 is not yet official, but is expected to go down on August 14 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
