Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has been showing his more amiable side lately in going on press rounds to promote his stint as a coach opposite Junior dos Santos on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.
In the early stages of his MMA career, Lesnar was cast as a heel and seemed generally content to play out the role. But, as his career and life have progressed, Lesnar has displayed a much more measured and inviting persona.
Slight evidence of this persona change can be witnessed during his recent appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter, where he was openly complimentary and praising of one of recently crowned UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, one of the sport’s brightest young stars.
“It’s a bright future,” Lesnar said when asked what he sees down the road for Jones. “This guy — talk about being comfortable. This guy gets in the octagon, he’s comfortable. He makes veterans look like they just started yesterday. This guy has got a bright future, I wish him the best and good job to him the other night, he did a fantastic job.”
To see more of Lesnar’s newfound soft side, catch the debut of The Ultimate Fighter tonight on Spike TV at 9PM/8 C. If you can’t catch or Tivo the premiere, check out our recap of the episode which will be posted shortly after it airs.
