UFC Fight Night 24: Dan Hardy Vs. Anthony Johnson

Round 1: They touch gloves and start feeling each other out. Johnson scores first with an inside leg kick. Johnson puts Hardy on his back with a head kick, but “The Outlaw” stays in there and gets back to his feet. Johnson takes him back down though, almost right away. Hardy keeping Johnson’s offense stifled with a high guard. Johnson landing periodical shots from Hardy’s full guard. Hardy is active from his back, currently looking for a kimura. Johnson muscles his way out and passes to half guard. Johnson rides out the round in Hardy’s guard. scores the round 10-9 for Johnson

Round 2: Hardy gets there first with a pair of glancing left hands. Johnson ducks a right hand and gets Hardy to his back against the fence. The crowd voicing its displeasure. Johnson looks content to control Hardy against the cage. Hardy rolling for the kimura again as Johnson works his side/kidneys. Johnson muscles out of the kimura again. Johnson gets into half guard brieflt before Hardy recovers full guard. Johnson stringing together some punches now and with one minute left in the round, it’s looking like Hardy’s only chance to win is by scoring a knockout or submission. :34 to go and Rosenthal stands them up, but Johnson dives right back under for the double leg and gets it with ten seconds to go. scores the round 10-9 for Johnson

Round 3: Hardy almost gets clipped with a head kick as he tries to take Johnson down. Johnson avoids easily and puts Hardy on his back against the fence. Hardy looking for the kimura again. Hardy trying tirelessly for the kimura, despite continually running up short. Johnson fighting very conservatively tonight. Hardy gets to his feet but Johnson stays on his back and lands knees to the thighs. Johnson with a head kick on the break. They separate, but Johnson immediately dives back in for the double leg takedown. He takes Hardy’s back and locks in the body triangle. Hardy getting thoroughly dominated by Johnson tonight. Under two minutes to go and Johnson is still riding Hardy’s back. He transitions to an arm triangle with one minute left but Hardy avoids, then Johnson goes for a neck crank that Hardy also avoids tapping from. Johnson watching the clock wind down and he tees off on Hardy until the bell. scores the round 10-9 for Johnson

The argument could be made that one or maybe more of those rounds could be scored 10-8.
