UFC Fight Night 24: Amir Sadollah Vs. DaMarques Johnson

Round 1: Sadollah with a pair of nice inside leg kicks before Johnson gets him to the mat. Sadollah to his feet and he strikes Johnson low with a kick. Johnson sucks it up and they get back to it quickly. Johnson catches a front kick and dumps Sadollah to the canvas. Johnson passes to half guard, but Sadollah recovers quickly. Sadollah keeping Johnson honest by staying busy off of his back. They get back to their feet. Johnson beats Sadollah to the punch as he presses forward. Sadollah puts Johnson on his butt with a nice straight punch but Johnson gets right back to his feet and goes for a high single. Sadollah avoids and turns Johnson into the fence. Johnson with a beautiful toss that puts Sadollah on the mat, but Sadollah returns the favor after quickly getting to his feet by putting Johnson on the mat against the cage. Sadollah with a big right hand before the bell. scores the round 10-10

Round 2: Both smiling, they quickly reengage. Johnson lands a nice straight right and then a knee. Sadollah with a good body kick and a pair of nice knees. They start going to war against the fence with Sadollah coming out on top. Sadollah with a nice one-two. Johnson looks a little weary as he loses his footing. He drops for a takedown that Sadollah avoids easily. Sadollah scores with a knee to the body before pressing Johnson against the cage. Sadollah firing away with big shots from on top. Johnson working to survive. Sadollah gets mount briefly and then starts hammering away with knees to the body as Johnson turtles. Johnson back to his feet. He lands a nice knee before getting taken back down to the ground. Sadollah gets the mount quickly and ties Johnson’s arm up to more easily work his ground and pound. Sadollah goes to town with elbows until Mario Yamasaki steps in to halt things.

Amir Sadollah defeated DaMarques Johnson via submission (strikes) at 3:27 of Round 2.

Sadollah thanks Johnson for stepping up on two weeks notice and taking the fight, says he wants a step up in competition.
