Round 1: A touch of gloves gets us started. Madsen lands first with a winging right hook. Russow tries for a right hand and then grabs ahold of MAdsen before getting shook off. Russow fighting for the takedown again but Madsen avoids. Russow pushing forward and forcing Madsen to fight early on. And he does, landing a nice right as Russow moves in. Accidental headbutt as they engage. Russow doing his best to crash into Madsen and move him around. Madsen barely misses on a knee. Russow with a good right hook. The crowd boos at the measured pace so far. They trade with both landing before the bell.

Round 2: They touch gloves again. Russow could’ve taken last round based on aggression, but very little of significance was landed by either man. Russow bulls in with a combination, tying Madsen up against the cage. Madsen showing some damage from Russow’s assault. Russow gets Madsen down and starts in with the ground and pound, but Madsen gets to his feet. Russow pulls Madsen to the mat again, smothering him from the top. The ref stands them up as Russow was holding Madsen in a cradle. Madsen lands a knee after the restart, then a nice one-two. Russow bulls his way in behind a combination again and ties Madsen up. Russow presses Madsen against the cage and the referee separates them again for lack of action. Russow gets Madsen to the mat again but doesn’t get much work in before the bell.
