An amazing week keeps getting better for 23-year old Jonny “Bones” Jones. The light heavyweight wunderkind foiled a robbery just hours before dominating MMA legend Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the third round of their championship match to earn the UFC light heavyweight crown this past Saturday at UFC 128.
It has also been announced today that Jones will appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this Thursday.
“Congrats @jonnybones 1st UFC fighter to do the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” UFC President Dana White wrote on his Twitter. “The hits keep on coming!!!! Tune in thur on NBC!”
While Jones being the first UFC fighter on the program is not technically true, as Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has appeared on the show (albeit to promote The A-Team movie in which he had a starring role), it is yet another nice feather-in-the cap for the prodigy.
