Brendan Schaub added Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic to his list of fallen opponents Saturday night after he knocked out the highly respected Pride FC veteran in the third round of their UFC 128 meeting and now he has his eyes set on another Pride legend: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
In an interview with FightLine.com prior to his bout with “Cro Cop,” Schaub indicated his interest in facing “Big Nog” at the UFC’s planned return trip to Brazil this Summer with the UFC: Rio card.
“Whoever Dana and Joe Silva want me to fight I’ll do. If they need a guy crazy enough to go down to Brazil and fight ‘Big Nog’ down there, I’d be willing to do that if they want,” said Schaub. “Frank Mir, whoever they want.”
Following his bout with “Cro Cop,” Schaub spoke with MMA:30’s Dave Farra, to whom he reiterated that previously made statement, saying that, like Doc Holiday, he would be the UFC’s “huckleberry” for that bout.
Currently on a four-fight winning streak which he compiled in the UFC, “The Hybrid” told MMA:30 that he is looking to continue his ascension of the heavyweight ranks and that he wouldn’t mind adding more legend’s names to his record in the process.
“I want the big fights, the big names,” said Schaub. “We could continue this legend stuff if you want.”
