Dana White Thinks Michael Bisping’s Illegal Knee Was Intentional

Michael Bisping won his last bout against Jorge Rivera at UFC 127, but the victory may have cost him almost as much as a loss.

“The Count” further alienated himself from many fans for his demeanor during and after the fight, which bordered on anti-social. Bisping let Rivera’s taunting YouTube video series get the best of him and he lost his cool, at one point landing a very illegal knee to the forehead of a downed Rivera which may or may not have been intentional. Following the fight, which he eventually won via TKO, Bisping got in Rivera’s face and then spat at his cornermen.

UFC president Dana White appeared on the Versus pre-fight show prior to UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann last week where he discussed the illegal knee, which he feels was intentional.

“Michael Bisping is in trouble right now,” said White. “Michael Bisping is a guy who I’ve liked and have had a good relationship with since ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ I’m very disappointed in the way that he conducted himself during that fight. I think the knee was intentional, I think he did do it on purpose. I think he saw him in that position, he looked at him and threw the knee and obviously I don’t like what he did after the fight either. Mike and I still need to talk and then I’ll figure out what’s next for Michael Bisping.”
