Strikeforce: Tim Kennedy Vs. Melvin Manhoef

Tim Kennedy is looking to bounce back from his title fight loss to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Manhoef will be seeking to break his two-fight losing streak to Robbie Lawler and Tatsuya Mizuno.

Round 1: Kennedy feinting the takedown early. Manhoef tries the same kick that Anderson Silva used to knock out Vitor Belfort. Kennedy shoots for the takedown and Manhoef actually avoids it. Kennedy tries a front kick. Manhoef avoids another takedown. Manhoef catches a kick and fires with some mean right hands. Manhoef knocks Kennedy down briefly with a leg kick and then lands another. Manhoef sprawls out of another takedown but Kennedy stays on him and gets him down and lands in side control. He transitions to full mount and then takes his back with two minutes to go. Back to full mount. Kennedy transitions to the back and flattens Manhoef out. Kennedy fighting for the rear naked choke and he gets it.
