Andrei Arlovski Vows Not To Retire

Some have called for former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski’s retirement following his latest loss, which came via first round knockout to Sergei Kharitonov. The defeat is Arlovski’s fourth in a row and third by knockout, but “The Pitbull” recently released a video chat on his personal website informing his doubters why he won’t be hanging up the gloves anytime soon.

“Absolutely not,” Arlovski said of retiring. “First of all, I’m not going to finish my career like this. Definitely, I’m going to keep fighting, and I know it’s impossible to fix all these problems. Honestly, I don’t know why I keep losing.”

Arlovski explained that walking away from MMA after a knockout loss is simply not an option for him because he has “too much pride” in him and that he “can’t retire like this.”

The Belarusian indicated that he will be changing up some things in his training camp in order to regain his status as a heavyweight contender when he eventually returns to action.

“Definitely, I’m going to change some things,” he said. “Absolutely not I’m going to [expletive] retire. I know it’s impossible to come back on the top, and I know it’s going to be hard, and it’s going to be very difficult for me. But I’m definitely going to do it.”
