MMAJunkie.com has gotten their hands on the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s drug test results of those selected fighters who were tested who competed at UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort earlier this month and they report that all of the tests came back negative.
Main event fighters Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort, as well as Rich Franklin, Forrest Griffin, Jon Jones, Jake Ellenberger, Miguel Torres, Donald Cerrone, Chad Mendes, Paul Taylor, DaMarques Johnson, Mike Pierce and Kyle Kingsbury were all tested for both recreational and performance enhancing drugs and all of them passed.
Taking place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on the fifth of this month, UFC 126 featured UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who defended his belt against Vitor Belfort in spectacular fashion by earning a first round, front kick knockout over his fellow Brazilian.
Young prospect Jon Jones made good on his hype again, defeating fellow up-and-comer Ryan Bader by second round submission to earn a surprise title shot against light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
In other main card action, Forrest Griffin defeated Rich Franklin by unanimous decision, Jake Ellenberger defeated Carlos Eduardo Rocha by split decision, and Miguel Torres defeated Antonio Banuelos by unanimous decision.
