UFC 126: Miguel Torres Vs. Antonio Banuelos

Round 1: Torres skeeps his left hand outstretched as a probe, his reach advantage is apparrent. He lands with a nice flicking jab. Banuelos misses on two combinations. Torres using his reach well, keeping Banuelos at bay with a measured attack. Double hab scores for Torres. Banuelos missing on the return. Torres showing a brilliant jab so far tonight. Torres feinting, looking to confuse Banuelos, who barely misses with two power shots. Banuelos misses a turning side kick. The round closes as Torres lands a jab. scores the round 10-9 for Torres

Round 2: Banuelos with a pair of low inside kicks. Torres goes high with a kick that is partially blocked. Banuelos barely misses on another nice right counter. Torreswith a one-two and a low kick that hits Banuelos where it hurts. They restart quickly. Torres pecking away with the jab, keeping his hand low and his shoulder high. He misses with a jumping front kick. Rogan comments on the lack of excitement in the fight, the crowd boos. They trade punches in the pocket briefly. Very little action as the round goes on, Torres just keeping his distance and making Banuelos miss with a stiff jab. Torres lands a one-two as Banuelos tries to move in; Banuelos’ nose is bloodied. Torres dancing around, landing the jab more frequently. They trade at the end of the round and they both land nicely. scores the round 10-9 for Torres

Round 3: Banuelos looking more urgent in this round, swarming Torres at the offset. Torres has regained his distance and goes back to periodically landing one-twos as the crowd boos. Torres with a nice combination, followed a bit later by a blocked high kick. More of the same with 2:30 to go, Banuelos missing and Torres landing mostly at will. Rogan points out that Banuelos hasn’t gone for a takedown at this point, neither has Torres. Torres jabbing away while Banuelos swings and misses. Banuelos tries a spinning back kick that misses. Banuelos going for broke with ten seconds left and Torres backs against the cage. The bell sounds. scores the round 10-9 for Torres
